Marco announces Alan Barlow joins as Chief Claims Officer

Marco Capital Holdings Limited (“Marco”) – Europe’s newest P&C Run-off group – today announced the appointment of Alan Barlow as its Chief Claims Officer. Based in London and Malta, Barlow joins Marco on 7th September 2020.

Barlow brings more than 35 years experience of insurance claims to Marco – the last 26 years in claims leadership roles. He joins from non-life run-off insurer DARAG which he joined in 2016. For the previous 12 years, Barlow was Global Head of Reinsurance Claims & Operations Director at Endurance, the then US$6.3bn Bermuda based Reinsurance and Speciality Insurance group.

His career began in claims at law firms Clyde & Co in London and then a firm of attorneys in San Francisco. Barlow subsequently worked in claims for a major P&I Club and then a captive of US oil major Exxon. He subsequently gained experience at Lloyd’s working for a Managing Agency followed by 9 years as Director of Claims at a London Market insurer before moving to Endurance where he worked alongside Marco CEO Simon Minshall.
