Marco Capital acquires Benteler Re

Marco Capital Holdings Limited, a leading European P&C insurance run-off group, today announced the acquisition of Benteler Reinsurance Company DAC. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

Benteler Re, a captive reinsurance company incorporated in Ireland in January 2003, is wholly owned by the Benteler Group which was founded in 1876 and is a global Tier 1 supplier in all relevant markets, with around 90 locations worldwide, and provides innovative products, systems, and services for the automotive, industrial, and energy sectors.

Simon Minshall, Marco CEO, remarked: “The acquisition of Benteler Re provides a useful solution to the Benteler Group in rationalising its group insurance arrangements. Marco welcomes the opportunity to acquire entities that are no longer seen as core for the business and this transaction serves as a good example of the value added we offer our clients”.

Terms of the sale are not disclosed.
